Fair point, but when I shot slide film my final results were on the light box fixed forever on film, so if PPL allows me to do anything in addition I'm golden, as are most people. Yes, if you need to rescue and image or do extreme enhancement too it Lightroom is superior, (and this is a slight at those who mocked me) but I guess I just take good images out of the camera since the knock on PPL is that it essentially only allows you to change basic parameters. That said, 90% of the (K10D) shots in my portfolio on are done with Pentax Photo Lab and I'm happy to go against the grain and say it did a fine job. I thought some features were better but it's definitely on par with Bibble, Lightroom, and similar programs (I'd say aperture but I never used it). Now that I've been using Lightroom pretty much consistently for about 6 weeks, I have to say Silkypix full is a lot like lightroom in the control level. Well I didn't want to spend the money on SilkyPix full but I did download the 30 day trial and it was 1000 times different (much more featured)Īctually SilkyPix sort of shot itself with the Pentax version because anyone who used/uses the Pentax version probably figures the SilkyPix full is similar.įact is, it's nothing like the Pentax converter.
